The idea of building the Binowo Park Golf Courses belongs Mr. Sven-Olov Brax - the Swedish entrepreneur. He has been in the shipping business with Poland since the mid 1970`s.
In 1990 he invested in a Polish farm producing grain, corn and potatoes. The farm covers more than 1500 hectares of privately owned land. In 1997, 87 hectares of this land was converted in to a golf course, which is now known as the Binowo Park Golf Courses.
The 1st part of the Binowo Park golf project - 9-hole course (1380 m par 29) with par 3 and par 4 holes plus a driving range - was opened in the summer of 1999.
During the autumn of 1999, the main championship 18-hole course was laid and was opened from July 2000. The design of the main golf course is noted for the fantastic landscape in Binowo, with natural water hazards on many of the holes. The 18-hole course is an open park course built to be exciting for low handicappers and a challenge for the less skilled golfer. The total length is more than 6000 meters from the back tees par 72.
The 18-hole course was officially opened on September,3 2000. Guests of honour were H.R.H. Princess Birgitta of Sweden and Mr. Sven Tumba, the Swedish Golf Legend. His WORLD GOLFERS CHAMPIONSHIP is the largest golf competition in the world for amateur golfers and BinowoPark is arranging the Polish competition and final participation of seven Polish golfers.
