Collier Park Golf Course is the international standard public golf course that could be best described as picturesque and challenging. The industry's best golf course architects Peter Thompson, Michael Wolveridge and Michael Coate working together, have integrated a large driving range, huge flawless putting greens and challenging bunker hazards. Collier Park Golf Course offers three world class nine hole courses, each with their own individual challenges. The first one, 'Pines' Course, is a Par 36 course which measures 3,103 metres for men and 2,680 for women. 'Island' Course is a Par 36 course measuring 3,081 metres for men and 2,632 for women. 'Lake' Course is a Par 35 course measuring 2,849 metres for men and 2,358 for women. The latter was designed by Michael Coate and opened in 1996. It's slightly narrower with fewer trees, greens more difficult and the bunkering set up to challenge the long hitters. Waving Santa Ana couch fairways and large greens are surrounded by mounds and tricky slopes. Both fairways and greens are deliberately bunkered, generally with large but shallow traps. Set in pine plantation, a lake on each nine makes this course very picturesque.
As for the driving range it is open from first light in the morning and the last ball is struck one hour prior to the proshop closing. In summer driving is off the grass and in winter it is on mats. Visitors can choose from three different sizes of buckets, depending on how they are feeling.
Whether you are visiting Perth or are one of many local patrons do not hesitate but come out and enjoy this magnificent facility.
