In one of the world's greatest wine regions, with its famous Chateaux, Golf du Medoc allows its guests to combine golf, gastronomy, wine tours and tasting. The Club is situated only 20 minutes from the city of Bordeaux and its international airport and offers everyone the magnificent scenery and comfortable facilities.
In a delightfully natural, open and relatively plane environment, something that feels precisely Scottish and links-like has been created in the form of the Chateaux course. The course also contains artifacts with a more local flavour in addition to the links-style trappings of gorse, natural bunkering and occasional ditches and water hazards. 135 metres to the green that provide marker posts are indicated with oversized wine bottles, and each hole is named in honour of a great wine chateau. After the round, where better to resume the post-match deliberations than in the marvelous clubhouse with some excellent claret on the table.
The opening of an on-site hotel in May 2007, made Golf du Medoc one of the best Stay and Play locations in south-west France. The Club provides all necessary facilities for guests' enjoyable vacation. Here they can find golf carts available for hire and well-stocked pro shop. Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends but must book in advance. What could be more eloquent than the fact that Chateaux course has hosted the French Open, a PGA European Tour event. Moreover in 2009 Golf World magazine ranked Golf du Medoc the 57th best golf course in Continental Europe.
Visiting one of the world's exquisite wine-making regions is in itself a great experience - add to that the chance to play golf at the luxurious Golf du Medoc, and what more could you wish for!
