Stretching across meadows that were formed in the 18th century from the bottoms of dried-up ponds, there are three rather flat nine-hole courses. The eighteen-hole course, which was opened in 2003, will catch your attention due to several very interesting elements: numerous irrigation and drainage ditches, which now serve as water hazards, several ancient oaks and other rare trees that shape a number of dogleg fairways and greens that are sometimes only protected by grass bunkers. Don’t underestimate them. On the inside, they are cut like roughs, and for many players they can be even more difficult than sand bunkers. Towering above the entire resort, the Hlubok? chateau, one of the most visited Czech chateaux, is an attraction you wouldn’t want to miss.
On 23rd July 1999, the first golf training started on a training meadow that was created on an area of about 300 x 250 metres by mere mowing the Po???sk? louka meadow. Service was provided from a prefabricated unit placed on a concrete panel. This activity was not advertised; however, it quickly became known. A decision to create a simple public golf course was made; this golf course started to be built in August 1999 by mowing golf tracks and creating putting greens without any constructional modifications.
The golf course was officially opened on 13th May 2000; at the same time, the club started to function. Apart from the representatives of both municipality and regional authorities, the opening ceremony was also attended by the president of the Czech Golf Federation at that time, Mr. Hanu? Goldscheider.
On 19th August 2000, the first "Hlubock? ??p" tournament was organized on the public golf course.
The interest in golf in Hlubok? was substantially increasing and therefore a decision to build an 18-hole PAR 71 golf course with a length of 5 900 m on the Podskalsk? louka meadow in Hlubok? was made.The 9-hole golf course has been run as "public" golf course for 4 years; last year, the 18-hole golf course was completed and prepared to be opened on 7th September 2002. However, while remaining minor modifications were taking place there, the golf course was flooded. It was flooded up to a height of 4 metres and remained flooded as late as by September 2003; it was too long for the lawns to survive under water.
